KAN conference 2026
Continuing to learn, grow and stay ahead of industry changes is a huge part of how we support our clients, which is why the entire JKFL team recently headed to Auckland for the annual Kiwi Adviser Network Conference at the Cordis Hotel.
Over two packed days, we heard from inspiring speakers, attended practical workshops, explored emerging technology, and gained valuable insights into the future of the New Zealand property market, financial advice industry, and client experience.
Day One – Big Ideas & Industry Insights
Day one featured an incredible lineup of speakers covering everything from leadership and business growth to the economy and the future of advice.
We heard from Cassie Roma, who delivered an inspiring session focused on “Showing Up Brave” and embracing discomfort as a pathway to growth.
James Fuller, HNRY CEO and co-founder, shared fascinating insights into rapid business growth, along with practical and refreshingly honest marketing advice that had us laughing!
We also heard from Jarrod Kerr (Kiwibank economist) and Nick Goodall (Cotality NZ head of research), who discussed the economy, interest rates, the New Zealand property market, and what may lie ahead for homeowners and first-home buyers alike. Sessions like these are invaluable in helping us stay informed and prepared so we can continue giving our clients clear, up-to-date financial advice.
Last but certainly not least, Vitale Lafaele shared powerful lessons on leadership, resilience and decision-making under pressure, shaped through his experiences with the NZ Army SAS and New Zealand Police. His story was both inspiring and humbling.
Day Two – Workshops & Future Thinking
On day two, the team split up to attend as many workshops as possible so we could bring back a wide range of ideas and learnings to the business.
We attended sessions covering:
Financial wellness
Compliance and industry changes
Business growth and scaling
Improving client experience
Artificial Intelligence and process improvement
The AI-focused sessions were especially exciting, with practical examples of how technology can help improve efficiency, communication and the overall customer journey. Ultimately, the goal is simple, finding better ways to support our clients while still keeping the personal, human approach that JKFL is known for.
Celebrating Maree
To wrap up the conference, we attended the annual awards evening where our very own Maree was nominated for “Support Person of the Year”.
While she narrowly missed out on taking home the award, she’s absolutely a winner in our eyes and a huge part of what makes the JKFL team so special.
The night itself was a fantastic celebration of the adviser community, with plenty of food, drinks, dancing, and a few photos that may or may not surface again later!
Bringing It Back to JKFL
We’re excited to bring fresh ideas, new technology, valuable market insights and renewed energy back to the office all with the goal of continuing to deliver an outstanding experience for YOU, our clients.
A huge thank you to the Kiwi Adviser Network team for putting together such an incredible event. We’re already looking forward to next year!
